Creating Care Inclusive Workplaces
Care is not just a personal issue, but a leadership imperative.
At The Huuman Group™, we believe care is not just a personal issue, but a leadership imperative. When organizations design with caregivers in mind, they create cultures of trust, retention, and well-being.
The Huuman Group™ brings deep expertise at the intersection of work, care, and leadership. We connect human experience with organizational strategy, helping teams design workplaces where people and performance thrive together.
Below outlines our phased process to assess critical employee needs, design support systems for care, and build systems where care and performance thrive.
PHASE ONE: Employer Needs Assessment
Goals: To understand the real-world challenges and needs of employees balancing work and caregiving, whether for children, elders, or dependents.
Overview: Focused, data-informed assessment that uncovers where employees struggle most and where organizational systems can evolve to better support them.
Deliverable: A concise Insights Report outlining key caregiver personas, priority challenges, and actionable recommendations -forming the foundation for strategy, culture, and organizational policy design.
Approach:
Employee Surveys: Quantify caregiving responsibilities, flexibility needs, and satisfaction levels.
Listening Circles & Focus Groups: Create safe spaces for employees to share lived experiences and insights.
Leadership Interviews: Surface structural or cultural barriers to flexibility and inclusion, understand core care needs
Policy Scan: Review existing benefits, parental leave, and flexible work practices to identify alignment gaps.
PHASE TWO: Insights to Action
Overview: Once insights are gathered, the next step is translating data into action. Each organization’s path will look different based on insights gathered, but most align around three tracks:
TRACK 1 - Flexibility & Culture: Redesign work norms introducing hybrid options, core hours, and/or meeting boundaries while equipping leaders with critical human skills such as communication, collaboration , and trust.
TRACK 2 - Physical Care Infrastructure: Assess the feasibility of on-site, near-site, or partnered childcare; evaluate costs and partnerships; and explore scalable models that fit organizational resources.
TRACK 3 - Community & Leadership Development: LeaderPods, group learning, and leadership coaching that support caregivers and train managers to lead with understanding, inclusion, and resilience.
Outcome: A practical roadmap that aligns policy, culture, and leadership around shared care values.
PHASE THREE: Implementation, Measurement, and Sustainability
Turn insights into measurable action. The Huuman Group guides rollout, builds leadership alignment, and embeds accountability across the organization.
Implementation Focus:
Lead workshops to model care-inclusive behavior.
Develop communication plans to normalize new benefits and flexibility.
Support partnerships with childcare or community providers.
Measurement Framework:
Short-term: Engagement and satisfaction.
Medium-term: Retention and absenteeism.
Long-term: Culture, trust, and innovation.
